Okay, so we’ve finally recovered from ADDYs and St. PADDYs Day last week and wanted to say Congratulations and Thank you to our clients, who helped us win BIG again this year.
ADDYs remain the American Advertising Federation’s big awards show of the year. Gold winners get a chance to advance to regionals (and our regional District is big and competitive since it includes DC, Baltimore and NYC) and then a chance for fame and glory at the national ADDYs

It all started in June when someone turned on some sort of “I want TV” machine. So we got going. First with Middleburg Bank with two new fox commercials, Then Melwood which will break in a week, then Washington Gas, and Steal My ID. Plus one that is being wrapped up now for another client. All in three months. Pheeww! We have all gained weight from those red licorice stick things at the craft service table, and from stress eating.…
It was billed as “The Festival of Saint Bernadine.” Who was Saint Bernadine? Why he was the patron saint of advertising, and he looked down upon SmithGifford very fondly last night as we captured a total of 16 ADDYs at the annual awards gala for the Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington. Among the awards we won were two Gold ADDYs for our work with Melwood…, including Best of Broadcast for the 2011 Melwood Opportunity.
Our work continues to garner recognition and we’re really happy to announce that we’ve followed up our “Best in Show” at the local Addy’s with 4 Silver Addy’s at the District Two Addy Awards…. SmithGifford was one of 12 local agencies that went on to win additional awards in this next level of competition.

I was watching the Food Network just last weekend (Throwdown, with Bobby Flay), and what do you know, the new ads that we created for our client, Identity Guard, ran. The campaign promotes Identity Guard’s Free ID Check Up. We’re tying the broadcast campaign with social marketing and an online campaign. Enjoy!
